Whether or not your taking part in the 2012 Olympics, increasing your energy levels is a crucial ingredient to a productive, creative and enjoyable life. Yet “tired all the time syndrome” is a major obstacle to a fulfilling life style. The medical profession call this a non-specific health issue, but there is some very specific Feng Shui advice you can take to raise your energy and enjoy your life more.
First and foremost is to reduce clutter in your home. Every time you walk into your home and see yet another pile of shoes in the hallway, your energy levels will drop. And if you can’t find what your looking for because you don’t have an effective storage system, you will waste even more energy trying to find stuff.
Take some time to get rid of anything you do not really need, and look more carefully at what your needs really are. If you value your possessions then they will add to your sense of well being, and you will want to find a place to keep them.
Next you want to check on all your mirrors, because what you see in a mirror is what you get. Your self-image, and hence how you feel about yourself, will not be enhanced by mirrors that are damaged, coloured or show a split image. You should also avoid the use of mirrors that are too small to show your entire face or full length profile.
You may also have painted much of the interior of your home white in the belief that this will brighten it up. Unfortunately, too much white will actually drain you of energy and can make you feel lifeless. While on the other hand, too much red in the home will over activate your energy levels leaving you quickly exhausted.
You can begin to turn your home into an energising environment through improving the quality of light. This means allowing plenty of natural light in, so get rid of those net curtains. And if you suffer from sunlight affective disorder (SAD), use daylight spectrum bulbs in your living room, hallway and kitchen.
Introducing more rounded leaved plants to your home will also raise your energy, while placing inspiring images around the home will help you become more focussed. Especially if you see an image of a single subject that is close to your heart as you walk into the house.
To truly activate increased energy levels you need to have goals to aim for. A Vision Board can help you bring life to these goals when you create a ‘map’ on which you write down what you really want in your life, and add images that represent these dreams. You then place this collage in your study, studio or living room, in the middle of the wall that the main door is on. In Feng Shui this is known as the ‘Career’ Area, and is where your journey to new more fulfilling life begins.
